On the 28th September JKS Wales had the privilege of hosting René Smaal from the Netherlands.  

René is a European Champion from 2011 and silver medalist from 2012 and 2013.  

 

The sold out seminar was held at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff and was separated in to two classes over four hours.  Each class was attended by students from all over Wales from different organisations.  

Both sessions were fast paced, informative and presented extremely well covering a vast range of kumite techniques including distance work, footwork, relaxation, takedowns and of course René Sensei's speciality, kicking.  

After both sessions the students minds were buzzing and wanting more, even if the body did need a rest. 

We would like to thank René sensei for a wonderful seminar and weekend with us, and also we thank all those who attended the sessions and supporting this event.
